Diagnosing faulty relays in a switch matrix

Faulty relays in a switch matrix are difficult and time consuming to diagnose. Symptoms often appear during test execution and they may cause failures that may not be directly related to the switch matrix. In addition, hardware requirements and time constraints often impede or discourage test organizations from implementing relay-switch matrix self-tests.

This white paper explains how a Teradyne M9-Series Digital Test Instrument can be used to test individual relays in an Ascor relay-switch matrix without external hardware requirements in a reasonable amount of time.
