Displaying digital state data in a waveform format

Digital simulation software such as Teradyne’s LASAR     often generate a “states file” that describes the digital states over time for each primary input/output pin on a given board. This information can be useful to troubleshoot failures in the absence of the original tool that generated the states file (e.g. LASAR).

The expect application reads-in post processed state files generated by LASAR     an state files generated for the HP 3070 in-circuit tester and displays their contents in an easy-to-see waveform format. The utility allows the user to move back and forth in time, add/remove signals and zoom in and and out.

This utility is useful to diagnose problems in a production environment where a test has already been deployed and the diagnostics/probe software fails to identify the failure.
